Two Project Managers of Shui On Building Contractors
Limited (SOBC), a subsidiary of Shui On Construction
and Materials Limited ("SOCAM", HKEX stock code: 983),
were both awarded the BMYA 2001 (Building Manager of
the Year Awards 2001) bronze award organized by The
Chartered Institute of Building (Hong Kong). They are
Mr Tang Ka Wah, Project Manager of the Ma Hang Village
Phase 3, Stanley project and Mr Freddy C K Lee, Project
Manager of the Homantin South Phase 4 project.
The
Award is organized with an aim to raise the professional
standards of project management in the local construction
industry and acknowledge the outstanding performance
of individual building managers who demonstrate management
excellence in construction projects. Judging criteria
include time control, cost control, quality of the building,
safety record, degree of complication of the project
and the role of the building manager.
"We
are glad that two of our Project Managers have been
presented the BMYA 2001 Bronze Awards. It recognizes
Shui On's continuous efforts in achieving high quality
work in all our projects," said Mr Louis Wong, Deputy
Managing Director of Shui On Construction and Materials
Limited (SOCAM).
SOBC
is a wholly owned subsidiary of the publicly listed
Shui On Construction and Materials Limited (SOCAM).
As early as June 1992, SOBC became the first building
contractor to achieve ISO 9002 certification in Hong
Kong. SOBC was awarded ISO 14001 certification by the
HKQAA and the China National Accreditation Committee
for Environmental System Certification Bodies (CACEB)
in 1999. It was also awarded the Occupational Health
and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification
by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) in
November 2000.
